About me

I understand individuals much less by their diagnoses and more in terms of their ways of coping with the set of circumstances and contexts they found themselves in.

How did you get here? Why do you seek therapy now? What would you like your life to look like? What is holding you back?

Working with me, you will learn that I provide a warm, curious and non-judgmental space with which to support you to feel safe enough to explore your inner world and relationships.

The therapeutic relationship lies at the core of my work, I will prioritise building that trust and rapport between us and will honour the courage I know it takes to be vulnerable and share your story with me.

Specialisms

Maternal Mental Health

Women carry so much secret pain, so much expectation, so much longing, so much trauma, as they embark on their journey towards becoming a mum. I work with women at every point in this process. As they struggle with their fertility; as they navigate pregnancy; as they grieve baby loss; recover from traumatic births all the way to finding themselves again as they emerge from the haze of early motherhood.

Sometimes, it will be about exploring the prospect of life without having their own children, life paths thwarted, rediscovering a purpose beyond parenting.

I also have a special interest in supporting people through separation and divorce, navigating single and coparenting and coming to terms with a family life that may not be the one you initially bargained for.

Trauma & Grief work

It is impossible to get to the end of your life without some degree of trauma and grief, they lie at the core of the human experience. There is tremendous power in healing and processing this pain, creating meaning and finding freedom.

The Uses of Sorrow
(In my sleep I dreamed this poem)

Someone I loved once gave me
a box full of darkness.

It took me years to understand
that this, too, was a gift.

Identity, Purpose, and Life Transitions

Change is the only constant we have.

With over a decade working in child and adolescent mental health, I came to realise that learning to tolerate uncertainty and approach transition with grace and courage, were a significant part of recovery for children and their families.

Working out who you really are, clarifying your values and taking those scary yet exhilarating steps are what my therapy is all about.
